Hi, this is Helen Gordon and my first post.
I am a mother of 3 who lives in rural Oxfordshire with my husband Bruce Gordon, a sculptor in the film industry.
I trained and worked as a textile designer for 10 years before a successful career in Buying for major high street retailers. After the birth of my third child I decided to develop a range of children's merchandise using my printed textile designs. Inspired by traditional fairytales and vintage fabrics I have produced a range of clothing, accessories and interior products that are classic and practical. I wanted to design clothes and accessories that are fun and funky and evoke an era of simpler childhood, using retro patterns and naive motifs with strong colour palettes.
I launched at Top Drawer trade fair in January 2010 and received a great response. See picture above of my stand that Bruce, my husband helped me to produce. Using his experience of set- building, he has produced a fantasy children's bedroom in which to showcase the range, including bespoke furniture.
Since the show I have concentrating on producing stock and I am very excited as the stock is nearly ready....
