What an amazing holiday we have just had, helped enormously by the glorious weather that Brittany finally had!
I was 12 the last time I was in this region and have very fond memories of crepes and buying fresh bread every day from the Boulangerie.
I was pleased to see that nothing seems to have really changed and there are still these specialist shops in little villages where you can buy a gorgeous pastry even on a Sunday afternoon.
The scenery is beautiful and they are very pleased if you manage to engage in French!
Below are some photos showing some highlights of our trip.
Cote d' Granit Rose
In the north of Brittany this region is known as the pink granite area. There are some amazing boulders that look like they have been placed there to form part of some giant art installation.
Aquarium
We took the children to visit an aquarium in Brest and this is a really surreal experience.
Never before have I got so close but yet so far to some amazing creatures like sharks, turtles and seals.
I liked the picture below because it looks like 2 of my children are in with the penguins yet the penguin can be seen eating the glue off the side of the window!! Surreal.
Poodle in a pushchair
I couldnt resist this picture.
Although not quite as dotty about pets in France as we are in the UK, there are obviously a few who really go to great lengths to treat their dogs as babies!
