Dutch Design

I seem to be very inspired by Scandinavian design at the moment, particularly Dutch designers. I found this great website http://www.bijzondermooi.com/ that contains all kinds of great products from Dutch designers.
Thought i'd highlight a few of my favourite designers.

Tord Boonje.

I have been a fan of Tord Boonje since he became famous for his "Garland" light that he produced for Habitat in 2004.
Made in both a gold and silver version (I have both hanging from various landings in my house), and made from laser cut metal, he really started the trend for intricate laser cut designs that were very organic and floral in nature, and looked like cut paper, truly amazing and inspirational.....

Studio Ditte

I love their new take on wallpapers.
They are a young design agency specialising in concept development and product design.
They want to add something to the user's perception of the environment by giving everyday life an extra touch. I particularly love their "ribbon", "Porcelain", "Birdhouse" and "button" wallpaper.
At 135 Euros they are not cheap but certainly are original and eye catching.

Kids on Roof.
http://www.kidsonroof.com
I came across Kids on Roof last Christmas while looking for Christmas present ideas for my children.
I love their Totem collection which comprises of various items like a tree, dragonfly, butterfly and spider that are made out of recycled super strong cardboard that is double sided and printed with intricate textures, crystals and other imaginative images all brightly coloured.
They are for 6 yrs and up and are for children to indulge their imagination and building skills. At 9.50 Euros for the dragonfly I think that is a good price point for such a beautiful gift.
