I came across these beautiful prints while looking at an Etsy site and could not resist buying them to add to my Hansel and Gretel inspiration.
They have been painted by Margaret Evans Price who lived from 1888 until 1973. According to Wikepedia she was a US toys manufacturer who co-founded Fisher Price Toys and became their first Art Director. She designed push-pull toys for the opening line, based on characters from her children's books. She went onto exhibit in many galleries and her work was published by a number of publications. I love the naiviety and simplicity of the pictures.
Hansel and Gretel has really proved a popular subject to produce a design for and my collection of Hansel and Gretel products have sold well, particularly the Hansel and Gretel make up bags which make great Christmas Gifts.
