Dorothy was born in Great Britain in 1891. She studied at the well-known
Blackheath School of Art, and during her career lived
and worked in Plumstead, Kent, and Esher, Surrey.
She mainly used watercolours to create her works of art and illustrated many children's books and postcards. She became famous for the Enid Blyton books that she illustrated like "The Faraway Tree" and "The Enchanted Wood".
