The Start of September

Back to School

The children have finally gone back to school after what seems like a long summer holiday. No trip abroad this summer as Bruce my husband has been working on various films including the new Tim Burton film Book of Shadows. So we have had several long weekends away to Cornwall and Norfolk and lots of outings to such places as The Roman Baths.

We finally have some new products starting to come in for Autumn Winter 2011.

Hansel and Gretel Peasant Dress.

Perfect for parties, the 'Hansel and Gretel' Peasant Dress is a limited edition design available as pre-order only. Each dress is made to order by a seamstress from my village and really is such good quality. David Walliams Sports Relief swim up The Thames.
Thought I would post a few pictures of David Walliams who is swimming the Thames at the moment for Sports Relief. THought we would go and watch him swim into Wallingford yesterday and it really was very exciting. Lots of people turned up and it felt like a carnival atmosphere, even though my kids had no idea who he was! Well done David who has now got half way to Reading and raised over £3 million pounds.

Lantern Procession.
Wallingford's annual festival is the Bunkfest where there are lots of folk bands, morris dancers in strange costumes some of which have blacked out faces, world music, and various workshops.
My friend had organised a lantern making workshop and my girls and their cousins really enjoyed making paper lanterns out of willow and tissue paper. We all found it very therapeautic and it was great to then be involved later in the lantern procession which went through the streets of Wallingford to end at the Bunkfest. The lanterns looked really beautiful and I hope it is an event that becomes a regular fixture as the children got so much out of this.
