I am not selling at many Christmas Fairs this year but did have a stall at a local new cafe in a nearby village called Cholsey at the Three Teas Cafe.
I had stalls with a few other local designers and we now regularly meet to discuss ideas every few weeks. I am a huge fan of Miss Foxglove http://missfoxglove.com who sell gorgeous bags, baby shoes, and hats made out of beautiful sheepskin.
Another friend Fay Ford http://www.fayford.com is a textile designer like myself who has worked for such prestigious designers as Designers Guild and now has set up on her own hand painting bags, cushions, boxes, prints mainly for children.
We are planning a few more shopping events and our next one is planned for
November 18th – Springdale Shopping Evening in Wallingford. It's a friendly showcase and shopping evening with local designer-makers, in homely surroundings. Starts 8pm. Tickets on request – please Contact Us for details.

The Fundamentals of Printed Textile Design
I was excited to see that Alex Russell, a friend, senior lecturer at Manchester Metropolitan University and freelance Designer has written a book about the fundamentals of printed textile design.
The book explores contemporary practice in printed textile design and provides an introduction to the creative skills, techniques and processes required by designers in order to produce a professional, creative and commercially aware portfolio.
It is a great aid to students about how to get on in the hugely competitive design world.
